Emergency Preparedness Planning

Medication Management Planning

Medication Management Planning focuses on keeping vital medications safe, organized, and accessible before and during emergencies. As a geriatric nurse, we review current prescriptions, over-the-counter products, and supplements to identify high-risk combinations, missed doses, or confusing regimens that could cause harm - especially under stress.

We then design a practical system for everyday use and crisis situations: clearly labeled lists, dosing schedules, storage recommendations, and back-up supplies for power-dependent items like insulin or nebulizers. You receive tools to share with physicians and pharmacists so refills and substitutions are easier when usual routines are disrupted. We also address who is responsible for packing and carrying medications during evacuations or hospital transfers. The goal is fewer medication errors, less scrambling in emergencies, and steadier control of chronic conditions when it matters most.
